Chagrin Valley Sports was founded by a former Chagrin Valley Times sports writer, Patrick Thornton.

The main aim of this site is to provide better coverage of local sports. Coverage will be more in-depth and more immediate. This site strives to be the place for sports reporting in the Chagrin Valley and surrounding communities.

Thornton is the editor and lead writer for the grant-funded journalism project, BeatBlogging.Org. He also runs the popular journalism blog The Journalism Iconoclast.

Thornton graduated in 2002 from Kenston High School and 2006 from Lehigh University with a degree in journalism and political science.
